Foxwoods Laurelin Pippen Ain't Easy BISS MBPISS, "Pippen"
Pippen is the puppy I was not expecting to get, but knew I had to have. He comes from the celebrated Foxwoods Kennel in Alabama and his dad is Teague! If you’re new here, we bred Eevee to Teague back in 2023 and unfortunately, she did not get pregnant. I LOVE Teague. About a month after Rocket died, my friend at Foxwoods posted that she was holding a show/performance spot in her most recent litter. They just happened to be all boys, and I couldn’t help but reach out to her.
Y’all know I love my girls, but I missed having a boy in the house and my husband loves boys. So I messaged my friend and asked if I could be the show/performance home and here we are! Pippen is exactly what I expected out of a Teague son – I love his spunky personality and willingness to work. He has a fabulous temperament and is so steady in new environments. He takes everything in stride and just generally loves life. My dad said that we “couldn’t ask for a better temperament” during Pip’s first trip to Arkansas. If you knew my dad, you’d know what an amazing compliment that is.
Pippen is named after Scottie Pippen, although many people think he’s named after Pippin Took from the Lord of the Rings. It felt like a gift from Rocket from across the rainbow bridge that Pippen was available, so to honor Rocket and stick with the basketball theme, we went with Pippen. The name has ties to Arkansas and Chicago, so it couldn’t be more fitting. My husband picked his registered name and I have gotten many comments on how funny it is. We love this puppy and are so excited for his future.
Our sweet “Pipperoni Pizza” kicked off his show career with a bang: Best in Specialty Sweepstakes, not one, but TWO 4-point specialty majors, and THREE Best Puppy In Specialty Show awards. Check out the story of his first show weekend here: Pippen Takes Hot Springs
Pippen continued his winning ways at the 2024 GRCA National Specialty in West Springfield, Massachusetts. He placed 2nd in his Sweepstakes class (losing to his brother!) under breeder judge Ellen Schultz and 4th place in his regular class under breeder judge Barbara Pepper.
